The public is invited to learn more about the latest advances in cataract surgery and cosmetic eyelid surgery at a free seminar Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, July 31.

The public is invited to learn more about the latest advances in cataract surgery and cosmetic eyelid surgery at a free seminar Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, July 31.

John Davidson, M.D., and Daniel Ebroon, M.D., will be guest speakers at the seminar that will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium at Community Memorial Hospital at 147 Brent St. in Ventura.

Dr. Davidson will provide information on the Alcon ReSTOR IOL multifocal intraocular lens, designed to give patients a full range of vision, and greatly reduce their reliance on glasses.

Faculty, Staff Members Welcome Back St. Ursula Academy Students

Faculty and staff members lined the entrance to Saint Ursula Academy on Wednesday morning to welcome back students for their first day of school.

The school celebrates this tradition each year as a way to make their students feel a part of the Saint Ursula community.

Their mascot, The Bulldog, even took part opening car doors and greeting more than 700 students. .

EchoStar Q1 results

EchoStar has reported a total revenue of $2.64 billion (E1.95bn) for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, a 15 per cent increase on 2006.

Net income totalled $157 million for the quarter compared with $147 million during the corresponding period in 2006. DISH Network added approximately 310,000 net new subscribers during the first quarter of 2007, ending the quarter with approximately 13.415 million subscribers.
